Miami, FL ·

MIAMI, February 24th- Aerosens, a Miami-based company that provides technology solutions for the aviation industry, has been awarded a Phase 1 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract from the United States Department of Defense and Air Force through the AFWERX innovation program. This contract will allow Aerosens to engage with key end users on the adaptation of the Aerosens platform to the Air Force’s requirements.

During the Phase 1 contract, Aerosens will research applicable use cases for its Safety and Security Platform that provides accurate information, detection and alerting about the status of equipment and/or compartments on aircraft. The solution maximizes security and increases efficiency while significantly reducing costs.

Maria Esther Martinez, founder and CEO of Aerosens commented, “It’s very exciting for our team to have won this award and we are looking forward to demonstrating the significant opportunities our platform will bring to the Air Force.”.

AFWERX partners with SBIR to shorten the SBIR timelines and provide opportunities to ‘non-traditional’ companies. In the words of the AFWERX team, “many mind-blowing ideas are being birthed in U.S. startup companies. In order to capture these ideas, the Air Force must do business at the speed of innovation; inspiring and accelerating startup creativity toward national security challenges.”
